Who We Are
Cathedral of Praise is a family of believers dedicated to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ to our world and extending God’s Kingdom by being light to the lost, providing a place for the lonely and offering healing to the hurting.
Our mission is two fold as Jesus set the example in Matthew 9:35-38. First, we minister to our church family in our house (v.35) by providing a place of: 1. Worship (John 4:20-24) 2. The Word (II Timothy 3:16-17) 3. Personal Growth (II Peter 3:18) 4. Involvement in Ministry (I Corinthians 3:5-9) 5. Development of Gifts and Talents (Matthew 25:14-23) 6. Stewardship (Malachi 3:10-11) 7. Fellowship (Acts 2:42, 46)
Secondly, we reach out beyond our house (v. 36-38) locally, nationally, and internationally by: 1. Operation Compassion - A benevolence ministry that blesses our local community weekly with food and clothing to people in need. 2. Kingdom Crossings - A media ministry that airs locally and nationally with Pastor Gary Taylor ministering the Word. A Prayer Phone Line is provided as prayer partners lead people in the powerful ministry of prayer. 3. Missions - The Missions Ministry is an important part of our church as we bless mission works outside America in monthly offerings. We also sponsor our own Mission Team annually to Honduras, Central America.
Since its’ beginning in 1910 Cathedral of Praise has had a strong Pentecostal voice in Gadsden, Alabama. Known as Alabama City Church of God until 1990, this church has touched the lives of countless thousands of people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. With a great heritage to build on we look forward to the challenges of ministry coming to us in this new century and believe our best days are ahead of us. As was with our spiritual ancestors, it is our vision to make an impact upon our generation for Christ. Cathedral of Praise has a passion for the Word, Worship, and Souls. We are a church with a rich heritage and a bright future.
